B Bar Gazette
Issue #13 June 2024
Howdy friends,

Thursday after work, a few of us walked up headquarters ridge overlooking the Reed meadow and across Paradise Valley. Bears absent from the far side of our binoculars turned our inspection to the abundant life around us.
Emigrant Peak on the western edge of the Absaroka Range in Paradise Valley.
Patches of arnica, larkspur, and glacier lily created a conversation platform instilled by Jada-Jo wondering the favorite part of our day. The discovery of wildflowers and tasting the edible ones, the enjoyment of learning the diverse backgrounds of coworkers, living in Montana for the first time, and sharing this unique space were our responses. After three hours of meandering through a forest occupied by chirping birds and gushing creeks, we retired our sore legs and thanked the sun for working overtime.

Try nibbling a sweet glacier lily on your next hike!
It is wonderfully fulfilling to share someone’s first experience at B Bar Ranch and to witness the sense of calm that settles into their being as it becomes a home away from home. Most of our 10-person seasonal crew in Tom Miner Basin is green to the Treasure State hailing from places such as Huntsville, Texas, and Haiti. However, they embody the B Bar Way comfortably and confidently like a favorite pair of blue jeans. While herding a few stray calves who reach the upper elevations of the Anderson Meadow near the back of the basin, Boyd remarks to Joe that he can’t believe they are being paid for what feels more like respite and exploration than work. With the arrival of 660 beeves last week and retreats starting this week, our staff has their hands full with big banana smiles on their faces.

All of us are excited to open our ranch home to you this summer. Between the variety of retreats and Ranch-to-Table dinners on the horizon, don’t wait to plan your visit to B Bar.
