Stewarding Yellowstone’s Doorstep
Nestled at the end of Tom Miner Basin Road, where the pavement turns to gravel and Montana’s wild heart still beats strong, B Bar Ranch stewards 9,000 acres of pristine private land and 11,000 acres of Forest Service grazing permits. Here, beneath the towering peaks of Ramshorn (10,296′) and Sheep Mountain (9,886′), we blend ranching tradition with innovation at the doorstep of Yellowstone National Park. Our cattle graze among wildflower meadows and sage-swept hillsides, sharing these ancient pathways with grizzlies, wolves, and elk that move between the park and our basin. As the last working ranch at the head of this remarkable valley, we actively enhance the land for future generations, going beyond mere preservation. Our commitment to regenerative practices and thoughtful stewardship creates a model of ranching where wild nature and human livelihood support each other, demonstrating how working lands can contribute to the greater health of the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem.
