Maintenance Technician

Location: B Bar Ranch
Employment Type: Full-time, Non-exempt

Overview:
B Bar is seeking a dedicated Maintenance Technician to join our team. Under the direction of the Maintenance Foreman, the Maintenance Technician will be responsible for the upkeep, repair, and care of our ranch’s structures, fleet, equipment, and infrastructure. This role involves coordinating with other departments to ensure smooth operations and uphold the ranch’s vision, mission, and principles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance on utility systems, including electrical, heating, and plumbing, to ensure consistent service for ranch operations.
  • Oversee the upkeep and repair of vehicles and equipment to guarantee safe, efficient, and uninterrupted functionality.
  • Maintain and repair the interior and exterior of all buildings, including roofing, flooring, structural components, and furnishings.
  • Manage improvements to ranch infrastructure such as roads, bridges, culverts, and irrigation systems.
  • Execute snow removal, trail grooming, and other weather-dependent tasks as needed.
  • Collaborate with the Maintenance Foreman to implement new procedures aimed at improving efficiency and reducing costs.
  • Maintain accurate inventories for tools, supplies, and equipment.
  • Handle waste disposal and recycling as necessary.
  • Occasionally supervise seasonal staff on special projects.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of three years of relevant experience in maintenance or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of maintenance procedures, with an emphasis on safety and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Excellent teamwork, communication, and time-management skills.

Work Environment & Physical Demands:

The Maintenance Technician will work near machinery and occasionally with hazardous materials. Outdoor work is required in various weather conditions. The role involves frequent standing, walking, climbing, and occasionally lifting heavy objects (up to 100 lbs).

Compensation:

This is an hourly, non-exempt position eligible for overtime. Schedules vary seasonally, with after-hours on-call availability required.
