Skiing on 20+ Miles of Trails

Trail Update — February 27, 2026

We are OPEN for XC skiing. We received a refresher few inches earlier this week just a couple hundred feet above the basin floor where it was raining. You can ski through the disc golf course and up Ezra’s trail to the Skully Tent, with very few spots where you need to take off your skis. It will be warm and sunny today and tomorrow so some snow might melt, but the skiing is great where there is snow. If you’re game for an adventure ski, and you are an advanced skier you are in for a fun time.

Surreal Experience

“The most magical surreal experience was xc-skiing through the willows. The moon was sparkling on the snow. – Marta A. “

Come Celebrate at the Ramshorn Classic February 28th

The Ramshorn Classic is B Bar Ranch’s annual winter gathering in Tom Miner Basin — a celebration of the season, the community, and the simple joy of being outside together.

While we aren’t fully open for daily cross-country skiing yet, snow is falling as we speak, and the excitement is building for February 28th. The Ramshorn Classic is not just about skiing — it’s a full day of live music, great food, and good company, hosted here at the ranch in the heart of winter.

This event also serves as a fundraiser supporting Park County Environmental Council, helping protect the landscapes and wild places that make this valley so special.

Whether you come to ski, cheer, gather with friends, or simply soak in a true Montana winter day, we’d love to have you with us.

Join us February 28th for the Ramshorn Classic at B Bar Ranch.

A Note for Our Skiing Friends

When you visit our trails, you’ll understand why we maintain a no-dogs policy. Our winter landscape is far from dormant – moose pairs browse willows mere meters from ski trails, and elk herds leave their stories written in the snow. We invite you to bring binoculars instead of pets, packed lunches instead of leashes, and a spirit of adventure that matches our wild residents. The serendipity of secluded ski trails awaits.
