Trail Status Update
Thursday, February 13th, Fully-Open
From gentle meadow loops to challenging mountain terrain, our full 20-mile+ network welcomes skiers of all abilities. We are scheduled for daily grooming for skate and classic ski lanes. Sawmill trail remains ungroomed, offering a backcountry experience.
Join us March 1st at the first-ever Ramshorn Classic for skiing, games, live music, food, and beer.
With multiple feet of new snow accompanied by cold temperatures over the last few weeks, the skiing is as good as it gets! Be aware, there have been multiple moose sightings. Make sure to keep your distance while observing wildlife.

Ski 20+ miles of pristine and uncrowded trails for $15
Presently, a stillness occupies the spaces between willows where grizzlies were grazing just a month ago. Winding through the flora are groomed trails for cross-country skiers to retrace the steps of the countless beings who lived here before us. Sliding across the Basin floor you’ll discover the original century-plus-old homesteading structures, the Davis and Anderson cabins. Ponder the strength and determination necessary to survive a winter at 6,600’ when winters were colder and luxuries like electricity nonexistent. As you huff up to the Skully tent and trails that border the Gallatin National Forest, enjoy long undulating descents and the best view of Paradise Valley that Montana has to offer.
There is still more to explore, like the backcountry trail to the Sawmill Cabin, a pristinely preserved structure where elk herds and plethora of wildlife live undisturbed throughout the year.
With over 20 miles of cross-country skiing, you’ll experience the pristine wilderness of the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem without ever getting bored.

A Note for Our Skiing Friends
When you visit our trails, you’ll understand why we maintain a no-dogs policy. Our winter landscape is far from dormant – moose pairs browse willows mere meters from ski trails, and elk herds leave their stories written in the snow. We invite you to bring binoculars instead of pets, packed lunches instead of leashes, and a spirit of adventure that matches our wild residents. The serendipity of secluded ski trails awaits.
