B Bar Gazette – November 2024
B Bar Gazette |
Issue #18 November 2024 |
Hi B Bar friends, I'm writing to you from our ranch's Great Room as snow clouds blanket the upper Tom Miner Basin. On our mountain tops, snow is here to stay, establishing a foundational layer of our winter snowpack that will nourish the soil come springtime. As the days grow shorter, nature embraces winter’s quiet as we prepare for another season of sharing this remarkable place beginning December 15th. |

To celebrate a successful guest season, Amy hosted a Halloween party for the B Bar Family. The dining room transformed with with spider webs, bleeding candles, pumpkin carving stations, apple bobbing bins, and a treat spread fit for the Addams family. The break from splitting wood, deep cleaning, building fences, patrolling for hunters, and transitioning to winter was welcomed by the likes of a pirate, Freddy Krueger, Dwight from The Office, a scarecrow, and a convincing Maryanne look-alike. |
The evening also introduced Matthew and Alex, our new Guest Ranch Management team. Their combined expertise in hospitality and love for the mountain West ensures your experience at B Bar will be more memorable than ever. Their enthusiasm for creating genuine experiences aligns perfectly with our commitment to sharing this incredible place. |

Winter Gatherings at Yellowstone's Edge Winter at B Bar reveals Montana’s soul like no other season. Snow blankets the basin between Sheep Mountain and Ramshorn Peak, inviting each day to unfold at nature’s pace. Tracks in fresh snow tell stories of wildlife adapting, while crisp air brings distant peaks into sharp focus. Our historic accommodations, weathered by decades of mountain seasons, are ready for winter celebrations. Here’s a glimpse of what awaits: |

Community Connection Save the date for March 1, 2025—our community ski event in partnership with the Park County Environmental Council, celebrating our shared connection to this vital winter landscape. |

All winter gatherings include access to 20 kilometers of groomed cross-country ski trails, thoughtfully prepared seasonal meals, and the kind of quiet that reminds you of what matters most. News from the Land Our cattle have returned to their winter pastures in Big Timber, where they continue their essential role in building soil health through careful grazing management. Currently, we’re setting posts to build new corrals before frost deepens. Thanks to our growing network of trusted producer partners, our herd numbers continue to rise, and these new facilities will help us better serve both the cattle and the stewards who raise them. |
For those who've been asking—yes, we’re now shipping B Bar Ranch beef nationwide during the cooler months. Instead of dry ice, we use traditional refrigeration, limiting our shipping season but aligning with our environmental values. Now’s the time to stock up for winter cooking. |

Whether you're planning a visit or bringing B Bar beef to your table, we’d love to share a piece of our winter world with you. Give us a call to learn more about experiencing this remarkable season at Yellowstone's edge. Sincerely, Maryanne Mott Owner and General Manager |
