B Bar Gazette – March 2025
B Bar Gazette |
Issue #22 March 2025 |
Hello friends of B Bar, March roared in like a sun-drenched grizzly this year at B Bar Ranch. As 150 guests gathered for the inaugural Ramshorn Classic, Mother Nature delivered mid-fifties temperatures and brilliant sunshine that transformed our winter wonderland into something resembling a June day on Beartooth Pass. The abundant snowpack held firm, preventing mud while providing ideal skiing conditions. |

The scene was nothing short of spectacular. Vibrant costumes dotted the landscape—dinosaur onesies roamed the trails, neon wigs flashed between trees, tutus twirling across the snow, and plenty of vintage denim making appearances. While many left with sunburned noses from the snow’s intense reflection, every face beamed with joy, soaking up the rare treat of perfect Montana winter weather. |

Smiles as big as the sky. |
As the day warmed, the snow's moisture content increased, creating slick afternoon conditions that naturally guided skiers back to headquarters just in time for Shakey Hank to start the rock-and-roll portion of our celebration. The timing couldn't have been better as hungry skiers lined up for chili and brats that seemed to fly off the serving table. |
We're thrilled to report that the event raised over $2,500 for Park County Environmental Council, supporting their vital work protecting the landscapes we all cherish. The community spirit was palpable throughout the day—a reminder of why we do what we do here at B Bar. |

One can't help but wonder what the homesteaders of the late nineteenth-century would have thought if they'd witnessed the scene unfolding outside their front door. What would the Reed and Ward families have made of neon wigs, dinosaur costumes, and a frozen T-shirt contest taking place on their property? Today's community is building on their legacy while creating new traditions for tomorrow. We're immensely grateful for the opportunity to share this slice of paradise with our local community. The enthusiasm and joy everyone brought to the event confirmed what we've always known—that Tom Miner Basin has a special magic worth celebrating. And celebrate we did! |
Looking Ahead While we're still basking in the warm glow of the Ramshorn Classic's success, we're already thinking about next year's event. The bar has been set high, but we're confident we can make the second annual gathering even more memorable. Mark your calendars for February 28th, 2026, and start planning your costumes now! |
